Interview: Sea Girls ahead of Neighbourhood Weekender 2019

At this year’s Neighbourhood Weekender, newly-signed band Sea Girls will take over the official app with exclusive videos and photos of their day. Made in conjunction with Second Screen, the app will once again be the main point of contact between Neighbourhood and its festival-goers.

The app contains all of the line-up times for the weekend, which takes place across the weekend of the 25 and 26 May 2019. By favouriting the acts you want to see in the app, you can plan your day ahead of time, then receive a reminder fifteen minutes ahead of a set beginning.

Ahead of the band’s takeover of the app’s newsfeed (where festival-goers can also interact), we spoke to Sea Girls about their new record label and stories from the city of Manchester.

Review: The Great Escape 2019

The Great Escape Festival took over Brighton last weekend for three jam-packed days of new music, industry networking and a whole load of shenanigans. Riding the rollercoaster that is The Great Escape takes a lot of stamina – and you might even vomit at the end.

Think of The Great Escape like a weekend in Santa Monica, but different. The rain poured early on Thursday morning, which obviously didn’t stop the party, as music industry delegates dashed between happy hours, tiny venues and invite-only brunches.

Review: Live At Leeds 2019

Saturday 4th May saw Live at Leeds festival yet again successfully create another incredible day festival around Leeds City Centre. The festival focused on promoting emerging UK artists and allowed fans to watch them in smaller venues such as Brudenell Social Club and Nation of Shopkeepers, creating a more intimate festival experience as opposed to your standard festival often with overcrowded tents.

Throughout the day we saw a chilled set from singer-songwriter James Gillespie (Operator Records) who took over Nation of Shopkeepers with his powerfully raw vocals and love-focused tracks such as Him:Her and Beyond Today from his EP, Lost. Live highlights included popular What You Do, taken from his latest EP Wants and Worries.
