Radiohead on Glastonbury 2017 :: ‘Glastonbury is our spiritual home’

Radiohead have responded to rumours that they could headline Glastonbury Festival 2017. Radiohead are among the favourites to top the Pyramid Stage next year, along with Guns N’ Roses, Kasabian and The Stone Roses. Daft Punk and Lady Gaga are also on the rumour mill.

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien was recently asked by BBC 6 Music if they could play next year’s Worthy Farm event: I would love to. I go to Glastonbury every year, it’s my carnival. To be asked to play at Glastonbury again would be magic. I also think Glastonbury is like our spiritual home. It is the mother of all festivals… there’s nothing like that one… It would be great to play there.

Courteeners Release New Single About Finding Love at Glastonbury

Ahead of the release of their fifth album, Courteeners have announced details of a new single. And their biggest UK tour to date. No One Will Ever Replace Us is a modern day anthem dedicated to a very British kind of summertime love.

The band’s Liam Fray says of the song: It’s about finding love in the unlikely surroundings of Glastonbury. There’s almost an under-pinning fear about when you’ve got something so good, and you don’t want it to end. The way the band are progressing, you’re more than likely to hear No One Will Ever Replace Us live on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2017.

What is the Future of Glastonbury Festival?

Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis recently suggested to the Oxford Union that Glastonbury 2016 could be the last year at Worthy Farm: Glastonbury is so big, we’re looking to potentially move in 2017, it’s a huge operation and the site may not be suitable anymore.

Glastonbury Festival has taken place in Pilton for 46 years. So what does the future hold for the world’s most loved music festival? In an interview with ITV at the  Royal Bath and West Show, Michael stated he’d like to see Glastonbury move to Longleat within the next two or three years: I want to see it there by 2019.
