Glastonbury Festival has announced a monstrous starting line up for this year’s Worthy Farm takeover. Joining headliners Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran is a distinctly diverse billing.
Exhibiting grime’s dominance in UK music, Glastonbury’s list of MCs includes Stormzy, Boy Better Know, Nines, Nadia Rose, Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and Kano. Craig David, Run The Jewels, Loyle Carner and Shaggy are also set to appear.
As expected, The National will open for Radiohead on The Pyramid Stage on Saturday night. It looks like The xx and Biffy Clyro will each headline The Other Stage, with festival goers having to choose between main headliners Ed Sheeran or Katy Perry on Sunday.
This year’s line up also features comeback performances from Lorde and London Grammar. There’s a huge nod toward female artists with Laura Marling, Emeli Sande, Solange, Haim, Annie Mac, Kate Tempest, Angel Olsen, Halsey, Nadia Rose, Tove Lo, Lisa Hannigan, Birdy and Martha Wainwright on the bill.
Breakthrough acts Sampha, Girl Ray and Declan McKenna are also given strong positions on the starting line up. Of course there are many more acts, art and surprises TBA.
No date for the resale has been confirmed but it is expected to take place in April. You need to be on Glastonbury’s database to have any chance of bagging tickets in the resale. Registration is now closed.
Tickets will cost £238 and a £5 booking fee per person.
