Sound-tracked by some of the most inspiring and creative artists from across the global music spectrum, Lovebox Festival is the magical weekend taking place at its new home in West London this July. With less than two weeks to go, we’ve selected a handful of hot acts for those ‘you had to be there’ moments.
This. Is. Lovebox 2018. The festival welcomes Childish Gambino to the Main Stage. Childish – AKA Donald Glover – is the definition of multi-talented, juggling the roles of rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, comedian and director with ease.
A decade into his MC career, Skepta is bringing his worldview to a global audience in undiluted form. His fourth album Konnichawa is the best-selling grime album of all time and the sum total and evolution of everything so far. Don’t miss his headlining set on the Lovebox Main Stage.
In 2017 N.E.R.D released their first album in seven years, NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES. The album includes their hit single “Lemon” featuring Rihanna and songs “1000” featuring Future and “Don’t Don’t Do It!” featuring Kendrick Lamar. If their recent set at Parklife Festival is anything to go by, you don’t want to miss this.
SZA envelopes your soul at first listen. Coveting a special innocence about her, the Maplewood native laces her music with soul-quenching traces of seductive allure. It’s truly the subtleties that make a difference though; the floral imagery, the small touches on her production, her concise yet intense songwriting. It all molds together to form this beautiful package. Her debut album Ctrl was one of the highlights of 2017. Don’t miss her at Lovebox.
Wu-Tang Clan will be at Lovebox Festival as a UK exclusive. The rap titans will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) – widely considered to be one of the greatest albums in hip-hop history. The confirmed members appearing at Lovebox are RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna.
Thomas Wesley Pentz, better known as Diplo, is one of the most dynamic forces in music today. He is as much an international brand as he is a musician/DJ/producer. He’s proven himself to be a ubiquitous cultural figure, consistently bridging high and low, mainstream and underground, with remarkable tact and reverence. Diplo remains the go-to producer for the who’s who of the pop music landscape. Don’t miss his explosive return to the Lovebox stage.
