LISTEN :: Hockey Dad – Wanna Be Everybody

Australian surf-rock duo Hockey Dad have unleashed new single ‘I Wanna Be Everybody’, the second cut  taken from their sophomore album Blend Inn set for release on 9th February via Manchester Indie label LAB Records.

“It’s about being a bit uncomfortable in scenarios where people just seem so relaxed and worry-free.” Zac Stephenson says of the tune. This self-reflective take on the issue of feeling anxious in social situations where everyone else seems to be totally at ease is paradoxically wrapped up in trademark scruffy, sunny riffs.

‘Come Out To LA’ is a commentary on the band’s own experiences in the city: “On our last album with a major label, like most bands when they first sign a worldwide deal, we were shipped off to LA to meet the bigwigs and shoot videos. We had someone taking us to fancy meals, promising us the world, and in our naivety we lapped it all up. It quickly became apparent that it’s just a façade.”
