Review :: Eric Prydz brings HOLO to Belsonic Belfast

Futuristic vibes sent us to another dimension last weekend as Eric Prydz, the undisputed King of audio visual shows, stunned the Belfast crowd with his new HOLO show.

As part of Belsonic outdoor music festival at Ormeau Park, HOLO follows several years of development work behind the scenes, using holographic technology to create and design a tourable holographic Eric Prydz live experience.

There has been a lot of hype generated around this tour. Skeptical that the concept of the show might not work at an outdoor event, fans were quickly proved wrong. Prydz incorporated cutting edge holographic 3D visuals with his epic live set, leaving the crowd wanting more.

For music fans in Northern Ireland, the opportunity to see a big name DJ is rare. However, in recent years with events by promoters Shine and Belsonic; Northern Ireland’s music menu is second to none. Belfast is the second of three locations in which Prydz is taking HOLO to this summer.

Lets face it, the Irish crowds know how to party. HOLO’s outdoor arena set up felt like an intimate event with the crowd’s energy pulling everything closer.

HOLO is one of 2018’s must see electronic dance music productions. With talk of a redesign for his epic live show for next year, we know there’s a lot more to come from Prydz and if his Belfast debut is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat.
