Lorde reworks ‘Homemade Dynamite’ with SZA, Khalid & Post Malone

‘All the broken glass sparkling, I guess we’re partying…’ Melodrama set the tone for festival season 2017 – Lorde’s dark pop music and cutting lyrics introducing us to the familiar world, of intense highs and romanticised lows, in the heat of the summer.

Melodrama’s third single; co-written by the brilliant Tove Lo, has now been reworked with Khalid, SZA and Post Malone. Each artist has offered their own chapter in the story of Homemade Dynamite – but the essence of the original remains.

Lorde’s lyrics are unchanged, and the song retains the production from Frank Dukes, Kuk Harrell and Lorde herself. Adding more to the infectious party banger, Khalid is on an intoxicated joyride with a new love interest: ‘Let’s be honest with ourselves, we’re way too high to drive.’

Meanwhile, SZA gets a guy all to herself at a party by distracting his friend and girlfriend. Post Malone closes the song, where he tries his best to hold back from someone playing it cool: ‘And you got me so faded, And I don’t wanna chase it, no.’
